ABOUT THE WORK.
What TMI does, how we work inside companies, what we build, and where a relationship can go.
01 / ABOUT TMI
ABOUT TMI
What does TMI do?
TMI works on the company itself. We identify what is holding an established business back, define what its next version should look like, and help build the operations, employee tools, software, automation, brand, attention, sales systems, and growth infrastructure required to get there.
Is TMI an AI agency?
No. AI is one tool inside a broader company transformation. TMI may use AI, software, automation, operating design, brand, content, sales, partnerships, or other tools according to the business problem.
Is TMI a consulting firm?
TMI can provide assessment and strategy, but the work does not have to end with recommendations. TMI can design, build, integrate, train, and improve the systems and market infrastructure the company needs.
What kinds of companies does TMI work with?
TMI is especially effective with established, legacy, industrial, and operationally complex companies. This includes manufacturing, machine shops, oil and gas, construction, logistics, fleet, marine, equipment, and field services. Industrial is the niche TMI is built around, and it is where the method is strongest.
Does a company need to be industrial to work with TMI?
TMI is built for industrial companies, and that is who the systems, the language, and the method are designed around. Work outside industrial is taken when the fit is genuine, but an industrial operator will always get more out of TMI than a business with no equipment, crews, or field work.
02 / HOW THE WORK HAPPENS
HOW THE WORK HAPPENS
Does TMI work on-site?
Yes. When the engagement requires it, TMI travels to the operation, walks the floor, follows the work, interviews employees, maps systems, captures knowledge, and builds alongside the people who will use the result.
What happens when TMI comes into a company?
The typical sequence is an owner session, an operation walk, team interviews, system and information mapping, a prioritized build, integration, training, and continued improvement. The exact sequence depends on the company and the constraint.
Will TMI tell our operators how to do their trade?
No. TMI does not arrive pretending to know the trade better than the operator. The company’s people and expertise are the foundation. TMI builds the systems, visibility, tools, and growth infrastructure around what already works.
Will the work disrupt daily operations?
TMI plans around operating reality and involves the employees who perform the work. The goal is to improve the company without creating unnecessary production disruption or forcing the team into a generic system.
Do we have to transform the whole company at once?
No. TMI looks across the whole company so the first decision is made in context, but an engagement can begin with one high-value constraint such as quoting, scheduling, reporting, knowledge capture, customer follow-up, visibility, or owner dependency.
03 / WHAT TMI CAN BUILD
WHAT TMI CAN BUILD
What is an Intelligent Company?
An Intelligent Company connects operations, people, knowledge, software, automation, data, brand, attention, and growth. It gives employees better tools and gives leadership a clearer view of what is happening.
What is a Company Operating System?
A Company Operating System is the connected structure through which work, information, approvals, customers, knowledge, and reporting move. It is designed around the way the specific company operates.
What are digital employees?
Digital employees are role-specific systems that handle repeatable work such as customer communication, sales follow-up, scheduling, reporting, collections, document handling, knowledge retrieval, marketing coordination, and operational support while people retain control.
Can TMI build custom software?
Yes. TMI can build web applications, mobile applications, customer portals, dealer or partner portals, internal tools, integrations, reporting systems, and focused replacements or extensions for legacy software.
Can TMI automate our workflows?
Yes. TMI can automate the work between the work: moving information, triggering follow-up, coordinating systems, generating reports, routing exceptions, and reducing repetitive handoffs without removing necessary human judgment.
What is Business Intelligence after the audit?
Business Intelligence is an installed capability that connects company data and makes revenue, margins, pipeline, performance, risk, capacity, and opportunity easier for leadership to see and act on.
Does the company own what TMI builds?
Ownership depends on the engagement structure, but custom company systems can be structured so the company owns the work built specifically for it rather than renting another generic platform. The exact terms are confirmed before the build begins.
04 / PEOPLE, BRAND, AND GROWTH
PEOPLE, BRAND, AND GROWTH
How does TMI improve Human Performance?
TMI can equip roles with AI copilots, decision support, captured expert knowledge, practical AI training, faster onboarding, reduced busywork, and better visibility into output and responsibility.
Does TMI replace employees with AI?
The Human Performance thesis is not to replace the best people; it is to multiply them. TMI focuses on giving people more capacity, better knowledge, and better tools while preserving the judgment and relationships the company depends on.
Can TMI improve our brand and website?
Yes. TMI can clarify positioning, identity, messaging, websites, sales materials, founder brand, customer experience, and the digital presentation of technical or specialized work.
What does TMI mean by Attention and Visibility?
Attention and Visibility include traditional search, AI search, content, authority, founder visibility, public relations, reputation, digital presence, discoverability, and distribution. The goal is to make valuable work easier for the right people to find and trust.
Can TMI help with sales and growth?
Yes. TMI can work on lead generation, follow-up, sales systems, partnerships, distribution, new markets, recruiting, expansion, and new revenue. The work is connected to the company’s operating capacity so growth does not simply create more chaos.

STARTING AND PRIVACY
What is the Business Intelligence Audit?
The free Business Intelligence Audit is a 30–45 minute entry conversation about where the company is losing time, money, information, attention, or opportunity. The goal is to identify the largest constraint, highest-value opportunity, and where TMI would begin. It is not a generic AI pitch.
Can TMI help prepare a company for succession or sale?
Yes. Exit Readiness work can institutionalize processes, knowledge, management, reporting, systems, data, automation, and customer experience so the company becomes less dependent on the owner and easier to transition or acquire.
Does TMI invest in the companies it works with?
No. TMI is paid for the work it does. We build the systems, and we can stay on for growth and programs, but the company stays the owner’s. TMI does not take a stake in it.
Does TMI share private client data across companies?
No. Reusable patterns, implementation knowledge, and benchmarks can improve TMI’s methods, but private company data is not freely shared between clients.
How is information submitted through the website handled?
Website submissions are delivered to mia@tmitechai.com through FormSubmit. TMI does not maintain a website lead database. The information is used to review and respond to the inquiry.
06 / WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE TO START
LOCATION AND STARTING POINT
Is there a firm in Lafayette, Louisiana that does this?
Yes. TMI Tech AI is based in Lafayette, Louisiana, and works on site across Acadiana, the rest of the state, and nationwide. Phone: (337) 450-9795. Email: mia@tmitechai.com.
Our business grew faster than its systems. Is that what you fix?
Yes. That is the core problem TMI is built for. The company works, it grew, and coordination now runs through one person's memory, a whiteboard, and software that never talked to itself. TMI installs the operating system underneath so the business runs on systems instead of recall.
We bought software nobody uses. Can you fix that instead of replacing it?
Usually yes. Most abandoned software was scoped on a call and built around a process the company does not actually run. TMI starts by walking the floor and following a real job from quote to invoice, then keeps what works, connects what can be connected, and builds only what is missing. Replacement is a last resort, not an opening move.
Where do we start with AI implementation?
With whether the company can carry an AI layer at all. AI installed on disconnected systems produces confident nonsense, so visibility, connected records and a working operating system come first. That readiness work is worth doing whether or not an AI layer ever gets built. Often the honest first answer is that the company does not need AI yet.
Our operations are messy. Is that too messy to start?
No. Messy is the normal starting condition and it is what the audit is for. Nobody is asked to tidy up before the first conversation; the mess is the information. TMI finds the constraint that is actually costing money before anyone proposes a build.
Our kids are taking over. Can you help them modernise it?
Yes, and that is a distinct piece of work. A successor inherits a business that works and almost none of the reasons why, because the pricing logic and process knowledge sit in the previous owner's head. TMI captures that into the company so the next generation inherits a documented operation, working alongside the outgoing generation rather than around them.
I want the company to run without me. Is that realistic?
Yes, and it is mostly a systems problem rather than a people problem. What keeps an owner in the middle is that pricing, exceptions, escalation and judgement have no home outside their head. Move those into documented process, connected systems and clear decision rights and the company stops routing every question through one person.
