Each one depends on the one before it. Registration without a market is paperwork; a market without readiness is a list of things you will lose.
01FIND THE MONEY
Map where the government already buys what your company does. Agencies, defense branches, prime contractors, historic awards, incumbents, contract values, buying offices, NAICS and PSC codes, recurring purchases, subcontracting and supplier programs, upcoming opportunities. You stop asking whether the government buys what you do and start seeing who buys it, how much they spend, who currently wins it, and how you get in.
02FIND WHAT IS BLOCKING YOU
Audit the company against the work you actually want. You may need SAM, UEI, CAGE, SBA certifications, supplier registrations, a federal capability statement, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC readiness, DFARS processes, CUI controls, export-control preparation, quality systems, document control, physical security, insurance, bonding, or past performance. Or, for a specific opportunity, none of them. We do not make you buy everything.
03BUILD THE COMPANY TO QUALIFY
Most consultants hand you a checklist. TMI coordinates the work between your company, your IT provider, quality professionals, cybersecurity specialists, export-control professionals, and outside assessors where they are required. Instead of the owner managing five vendors and translating between them, TMI becomes the operating layer.
04BUILD THE FEDERAL OPERATING SYSTEM
Your government work should not live in someone’s head. One place for opportunities, qualification, compliance requirements, contracts, documents and clauses, suppliers cleared to receive protected information, deadlines, certification expiries, buyer relationships, and pipeline. Your company’s federal command centre.
05DEFENSE + CUI READINESS
If you want defense manufacturing work, cybersecurity becomes part of the sale. TMI coordinates readiness around NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, DFARS, Federal Contract Information and Controlled Unclassified Information, incident response, physical security, supplier flowdowns, evidence, and system security plans — working with your existing IT provider wherever possible. The goal is the smallest practical protected environment that lets you safely perform the work, not a rip-out because someone has a product to sell.
06FEDERAL INTELLIGENCE
Match government demand against your actual capabilities rather than keywords: equipment, materials, processes, tolerances, certifications, people, capacity, geography, turnaround, past performance, supplier network, workable contract size, margin requirements, and current compliance level. Then rank what is worth pursuing.
07PURSUE IT
Once the company is ready, TMI can stay on as your outsourced federal growth team: opportunity monitoring, bid/no-bid decisions, buyer research, prime targeting, supplier registrations, teaming, RFQ tracking, capability packages, proposal support, follow-up, pipeline management, compliance monitoring, renewals, and the next opportunity.
